Going to the Zoo and Mailing Merch to You
What an amazing tour for The Listening Wall! Jim and I had a blast performing up and down the East Coast these past few weeks. Now that I have a chance to write, I would love to recap the tour for you. With lots of pictures of course! : )
After kissing our spouses goodbye, our first stop was Asheville’s One Stop Deli. I was grateful our first show was in Asheville because it’s a super cool place with tons of character and quite welcoming to all. Once we got our super cool stage set up, we were ready to rock and roll! Err…Folk and Roll? Hmm… Well here’s a picture of our set up on stage:
Now, keep in mind this was day one of our first tour. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect so I tried to be open and receptive to what came. I did have to crack up at a few things that night:
1.) Seeing our posters in prime position on the bathroom stall.
2.) Having a petite moment with a mirror that was hung by a giant (I am 5 feet tall).
3.) While Jim and I were playing ourĀ awesome Uptown Acoustic Folk music in the lower part of the venue, the upper floor held the Funk Master Reggae Band. I can’t remember what their real band name was but this pseudonym seems to capture their essence. Let’s just say they were rockin’ and rollin’ that night with their 75 piece band! Ha! Those who came out to listen to us were amazing though! They were happy and brought a great energy to the set! Thanks guys!
The next day, we drove to Columbia, SC and went to the zoo for some fun photos for those who had pre-ordered our CD’s. Here are a few of the pics:
That evening we played at The New Brookland Tavern with some amazing people! New Brookland Tavern was an incredible place to play. Nice staff and an amazing audience! They were truly happy to hear the performers and be a part of the music.
All in all…what a great way to start a tour!
